After many years of informal meeting which are closed to the public, we would like to turn one of our meetings into an AFOL event. With this meeting we take the next step for growing into this.
On Sunday, August 25, 2019 we will organize LOWLUG XL 2019, a meeting where a number of things will go differently than during regular meetings.
1. We will open the meeting to the public from 12 a.m. to 4 p.m.
2. We would like to ask you to register between March 1 and June 30 via this form.
Why do I have to register, which is normally not necessary for a LOWLUG-meeting?
Two reasons, at first it is very nice for us as an organization to know how many people are attending and second what they will bring to show. In this way we can organize the venue well and make a beautifull event. Even though we expect that we’ll have enough room for everyone who wants to come, it could be that the tables are full at some point during the registration. We’ll assign the tables in order of registration.
I am not sure if I’m able to show a MOC, can I just drop by?
Every AFOL can register, with or without MOC. Everyone who has signed up pays €10 (in advance). With this contribution we can cover the initial venue rent. Also every participant will receive a small goodiebag with at least a event brick.
If you do not register, you are off course welcome to come by as a visitor during the public opening hours.
For who is LOWLUGXL?
LOWLUG XL is an event for AFOL’s. When the venue is not open to the public, only registered participants are allowed in the venue.
Anyone in the age of 12 or older can (as alway) register as a AFOL, or TFOL.
Kids and non-AFOL significant others are more than welcome during the public opening hours, between 12.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m..
Why do I need to pay up front?
It is very nice for us as an organization to have the budget in advance to be able to arrange certain things.
That is why you will receive a payment request by e-mail after the registration has been closed.
Is this event as free as a regular LOWLUG meeting?
Not quite. Because we are going to open this meeting to the public, we’ll have to take the audience in consideration.
This also means that there are some limitations, for example regarding WIPs, use of non-LEGO components and certain themes.
Please note, this only applies to LOWLUG XL, these restrictions obviously do not apply to all regular meetings.
Eating together?
During the registration process, you can also indicate that you want to join dinner. We’ll dine at the [url = https: //www.oranjehotelmeijel.nl/]Oranje Hotel[/url] in Meijel, which is within walking distance of the venue. They will provide us with a hot and cold buffet with at least various salads, a chicken-, meat- and fish dish and more. Vega and vegan is not a problem, but they prepare this outside the buffet, so please let us know when you register, we can pass it on to the restaurant. The cost for the dinner is €30 and must also be paid in advance. This includes two drinks, further drinks can be purchased at the bar.
When can I register?
You can register between March 1 and June 30, using this URL.
What will be the program?
For now, these are the most inportant moments. We’ll later fill in the activities.
10:00 – 18:00 Venue opens for all registered AFOL’s.
12:00 – 16:00 Venue opens for the public.
16:00 Venue closes for the public.
16.30 – 17.00 Lottery draw (we’ll only sell tickets for the lottery to registered AFOL’s).
18.00 Venue closes. Everyone who signed up for dinner goes to the restaurant.
